Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and United Kingdom, I was browsing through my photos to see where I should write about next.
And interestingly, I realised I haven't posted about Seoul, South Korea, despite having visited a few times. My first trip was in 1998 when my parents brought me overseas. Thereafter, I visited Seoul with friends back in 2019, and then last year 2025, and then last month in 2026, where I fell and injured myself. You can read more about it here.
Like the saying goes, you get back where you fall. So it's probably about time I write about my Seoul adventures. Starting from the 2019 one. Hehe.
Here's my earlier post(s) from this series!
South Korea - Discovering Seoul From Above
South Korea - Adventures At Lotte World
Another one of the must visit attractions when one is in Seoul is the Lotte World Aquarium! It's convenient because it's within walking distance from the Lotte World theme park. So we visited the theme park in the day, grabbed a simple lunch, and then headed off to the aquarium. I know what some of you might think, every country or city has their own aquarium, so what's so special about this one? For me, I think city's aquarium has their own exhibits and own design, I would always visit at least once, just to enjoy what they have to offer.
Right at the start, we were showcased on something more special to Korea, the river creatures of Korea.

There were many exhibits from fishes to frogs...

To flesh eating fish.. gasps

Similar to some of the underground water worlds in other places, they also this tunnel like structure which made good photo taking spots, hehe!

They had live demonstrations and shows too!

And who could miss this - it's the giant screen! It's always therapeutic to watch the sea of blue and the endless schools of fishes swimming within it.

And all of a sudden, a stingray appeared to say hi to the visitors! waves excitedly

Ahh, so it was the divers who led them to the screen through food. Hahaha.

And that wasn't all! Suddenly, a whale appeared too! Wow!

Everyone was so excited to see this unique sea creature swim through too!

Moving past the giant panel, we get to the see the cute penguins! Penguins are always cute to me, hahaha!

I liked this photo a lot, because of the decorations. It was during the Christmas and New Year period, so the festive decorations were still up.

With that, we concluded our trip to the Lotte World Aquarium! I especially enjoyed seeing the stingrays and penguins because it's hard to see such creatures elsewhere, unless you somehow go out to the sea or go diving or go Antarctica. Lol. So it's not just a kid friendly, because I am sure there's something for everyone.
And that's all I have today! Have you been to Seoul or South Korea? Let me know in the comments below!
