Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and United Kingdom, I was browsing through my photos to see where I should write about next.
And interestingly, I realised I haven't posted about Seoul, South Korea, despite having visited a few times. My first trip was in 1998 when my parents brought me overseas. Thereafter, I visited Seoul with friends back in 2019, and then last year 2025, and then last month in 2026, where I fell and injured myself. You can read more about it here.
Like the saying goes, you get back where you fall. So it's probably about time I write about my Seoul adventures. Starting from the 2019 one. Hehe.
I always like to visit the observatory towers when I travel to a new city, because it's nice to see the city planning as well as the bird eye's view of the city. Some cities have neat rows of buildings, while others have mountains or rivers and seas in the horizon. Every city is unique so it is also refreshing.
So the first post for Seoul will be my first up Namsan Park and finally the Seoul Tower! The first photo was taken from my hotel this year and I thought that was a great view, where you can see the hill and tower from far.

So here we are! There was this area where people attached their love locks. Haha. Do you believe in them? Or do you think they are unnecessary? (After all, who is going to maintain them?)

Just outside the tower, actually visitors could already admire the views of Seoul city. Of course, the tower is higher but if you are on a budget, this is definitely good enough. Anyway, since we already bought the tickets, we will make the visit!

Beautiful sight at the top of the hill in front of the Seoul Tower.

There were people in traditional costumes as well. A common sight in Seoul actually. Perhaps to immerse more fully into the Korean culture.

One of these historical buildings, resembling a mini hall or resting area I guess.

More views to soak in!

No shortage of visitors for sure! I think even the locals do hike their way up as a form of exercise and to admire the views, a win-win!

So finally we made it into the tower and the observatory!

This time round, the height was more obvious, especially if you notice the shadow of the tower! Amazing city in this mountainous or hilly terrain. I do have to say that the terrain of Seoul can be a fair amount of highs and lows, and when I take Uber or taxi, it can feel like a mini rollercoaster ride if they are driving fast.

This was from another angle of the Seoul Tower. That's the path that people would hike up.

More views!

Special mention to Singapore's direction! Lol!

This was one of the many stairs which we had to descend!

Ending off the night version of the same photo at the start! Different vibes but still as spectacular!

So that's about it for this trip up Namsan Hill and Seoul Tower! Always enjoyed these visits and admiring these city views from above! And the fact that Seoul Tower was on the peak of the hill, made it even much higher. Let's see what the rest of the Seoul journey will bring!
And that's all I have today! Have you been to Seoul or South Korea? Let me know in the comments below!
