Hello there! It's my 9th post in the new World Map Pin community! Trying to do the tag as well! If you haven't read about them, please take a look at this link.
As background, I have done a few overseas trips last year, as some of my friends here would know, and I have been wanting to share some of the interesting places that I have visited. However, life has been busy and I have been procrastinating penning these entries and recently, I revisited this target of mine and finally broke the inertia!
One of my memorable trips in 2023 was to Tokyo, Japan, and during that trip, I did quite a few day trips to nearby cities and towns. Earlier this year, I wrote about visiting the peaceful Karuizawa, the scenic Atami, the nature in Nikko and the zen Kamakura. Then we went to the magical place which was Warner Bros Studio Tour aka The Making Of Harry Potter in Tokyo! For this post, we continue our studio tour in this huge building!
Before I begin, I just want to thank all of those who have supported the earlier Harry Potter Studio Tour posts and engaged with me over in the comments section! I never expected to generate such a great response and I am deeply appreciative!
For the last instalment of this series, we were brought to the set of Ministry Of Magic! Except for the ceiling, this really looked like what we saw in the movie. The offices, the sculptures, the people, etc.
The next exhibition was very interesting too. Over there, we saw videos on how they created and filmed the creatures, as well as how the sound effects were made. It was an eye opener for me that a movie really requires the teamwork of many different groups of people, not just directors and actors. I learnt a lot in this educational segment.
Moving on.. Everyone should know this place! Diagon Alley! It really felt so surreal walking through this alley. Lots of photo taking opportunities here and there were different shops with many stuff on display, including the owls!
Finally, we were led to the final room which had The Hogwarts Model. As mentioned in the description, these models were used for filming as well. Was really wow-ed by the details of the model.
And finally we finished the Harry Potter Studio Tour! The whole tour took almost 4 hours (a lot of walking!) and by the time we exited the place, the sky was dark already... But wait... The night view of the entrance is different from the day view!
Hint: You got to check out the earlier post to find the difference! :P
With that, that's all for my sharing for the magical Harry Potter Studio Tour Part 5, which is also the final part.
As someone who has read all the books in the series, and watched all the movies in the theatres, it was indeed a joyful experience to relive some of these memories and better understand how some of the stuff happened behind the scenes. I liked that they had many interactive segments such as shows, activities, where visitors can roleplay some of the bits of the movie. With that, we continue to explore other parts of Japan in our next post!
Let me know in the comments if you have been here too, and what are your thoughts about this place?
Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin! More to come I promise! :)
P.S. I have also tried to document my posts in one table so it's easy to reference too!

Oh man such a wonderful place! Reminds me of when I went to the Harry Potter section of Universal Studios in Florida. That was a long time ago but it was definitely a favorite of mine!
I love the detail of the model castle, that's unreal! Such a fascinating thing to see up front. I am really sad that they haven't made anything as interesting as this but happy we got to experience these things as kids growing up. It's really beautiful!
I think I want to watch the Harry Potter movies with my son soon, he's getting to the age where he will appreciate them!
Yeah the good old days of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Loved those series! With all the platforms, can binge watch all of them at a single go! :P
I miss this boat when I was at Tokyo. It must be great place for HP fans like us.
Yeah definitely a must go for Harry Potter fans! Thanks for dropping by!
So nice!
Hehe!
When I think of American movie studios I do not think of other countries. This sounds cool.
Yeah it was a very unique and fun experience! Thanks for dropping by!
