Maldives - Paradise On Earth (Part 4) - Best For The Last!

IMG_6037.JPG

Hello there!

Having completed my Japan travel posts, I was going through some of my travel photos and was wondering which country would be interesting to share in my next post. And after shortlisting a few countries, I settled on Maldives, which to me is a Paradise On Earth!

This trip was a meaningful one for me because this was my first trip after I started working. Because Maldives' flights and resorts were generally on the expensive side, it took a while for me to save up for a 4 day 3 night trip to Maldives. This was many years ago, and I remembered it costed around SGD 2,500 (around USD 1,865).

Because of the length of this trip, and the activities that my friend and I did, I will split the posts into several parts so that it's not too lengthy (and it's also more manageable on my end).

Here's the earlier posts:

Maldives - Paradise On Earth (Part 2)
Maldives - Paradise On Earth (Part 3)

With further ado, let's go!

After the trip to the village, the next item on the itinerary was snorkelling! And we were each given our gear! It was my first time snorkelling so I was quite excited as well.

On our way to the snorkelling site, once again, we were treated blue waters and blue skies, and along the way, we also saw other islands as well. Most of these islands are resorts.

Soon we came to our part where the waters were shallow because there were corals beneath. These was how the shallow waters look like. One by one, we put on our gear and leapt off the boat into the waters. I didn't have photos of myself snorkelling because my camera wasn't waterproof so I left it on the boat. The experience was quite interesting because we got to see corals, colourful fishes, etc. I must say though, it can be quite tiring as well because of the waves and I did had some motion sickness after a while being constantly swept by the waves.

Thankfully there weren't any sharks or poisonous creatures. Thinking back, I thought I was rather brave to go into these open waters (even though we all had a life jacket), because the waters were so big and open and you never know what could be swimming below.

After snorkelling, we next moved on to what they would call an islet, which is a small strip of land in the middle of the waters. As you can see, it's just a small strip of land where there's sand. Also, the waters were very shallow and we could just walk in the area.

IMG_6036.JPG

This has got to be my favourite photo of this trip. It's not edited or enhanced or photo-shopped by the way, it's as raw as it is from the camera. This was the boat that we took, and I snapped while walking along the shallow waters. It really captured how beautiful Maldives was! A few more photos of the area below too!

And this was the maximum where we could walk until. If you could see the different shade of the waters, beyond the distance, we were told the waters would become deep so it's best not to venture across the line.

Finally, we were on our return journey back to the resort! More islands, more resorts and of course, the mesmerising blue waters!

So this summed up my pretty short trip and adventure to Maldives! There were quite a lot of random photos but I thought it would be more interesting to share the highlights! This excursion out to snorkelling and the islet in the middle of nowhere was really the most memorable part of the trip, especially when it was my first time snorkelling, and that's why it's written in the title as "Best For The Last!" I hope you have as much as fun reading the posts as much as I had writing them! For those who have not been to Maldives, hopefully these photos will tempt you enough to visit this awesome place, at least once in your lifetime!

Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
