Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.

There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!

Documenting all my entries for this 2025 Europe Trip:
Turkey - An Istanbul Adventure: From Blue Mosque to Bazaars
France - Exploring The Parisian Icons: Effiel Tower And Arc De Triomphe
France - Wandering Through Paris: The Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries
France - Strolling Through Paris: Notre Dame And The Seine
France - Climbing Montmartre: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and Panoramic Views
France - Exploring Nice: Promenade des Anglais And City Strolls
France - Climbing Castle Hill: Breathtaking Views and Nice's Coastal Beauty
Monaco - Visiting The Home Of F1 Street Racing!
Monaco - Glamorous Streets, Iconic Sights And F1 Thrills
Italy - Exploring Rome’s Icon: The Colosseum
Italy - Discovering Rome: The Roman Forum

Rome is definitely an exciting to be for people who are into history and culture. Having covered the popular Colosseum and Roman Forum in the earlier posts, we continued exploring the sights and sounds in Rome.

If Colosseum was crowded, the crowd at the Trevi Fountain was probably ten times more! It was so easy to find because so many tourists and visitors were walking down the same path and when we arrived, we were just stunned by the sheer amount of the people. As you could see, it's not very spacious.

We got a bit closer and I managed to take a photo without all the human heads. Haha! It's actually very big for a fountain! And the architecture was just marvelous. That said, the place was very packed and I was a little worried about my valuables over there as well. Fortunately, everything was okay!

This was one of the many churches in Rome! I appreciated the fact that they had so many of these carvings on the exterior of the building. It's interesting how religion was such a huge part of people's lives in the past.

This is the Pantheon, another place of worship. We didn't manage to get the tickets - just look at how many people there were at the entrance! But it was okay, we just chilled around and took some photos outside! Once again, there's the carvings on the exterior walls!

And then we have another one! So many to look around and see!

20250509_153442.jpg

Another church here too! I thought this looked very grand but it didn't have many visitors actually. Maybe it wasn't a popular one?

20250509_154220.jpg

In many of the town squares, there were a lot of these tall structures which I thought were pretty unique and interesting as well.

20250509_152735.jpg

Just look at how tall this was! This was actually an Egyptian obelisk.

20250509_163835.jpg

There were many of these small fountains, with different sculptures of humans and animals.

With the hot weather, we also sought refuge their malls. There weren't that many malls in Rome compared to fashion cities like Paris or Milan, but we were not there to shop so it was okay for some window shopping. Hehe!

20250509_164233.jpg

And the best part of this post, welcome to Castel Sant'Angelo. This was such a beautiful fortress, which has now turned into a museum. Compared to so many places of worships I encountered during these trip, this stood as something special and I thought it was just as beautiful and majestic as the Colosseum. And if you looked closely, there were angel structures too!

20250510_111828.jpg

St. Angelo Bridge stood in front of Castel Sant'Angelo and both sides of the bridge were flanked by the angels!

And here's the complete picture of the fortress taken from St. Angelo Bridge!

And while we were hunting for food, our stroll led us to Campo de' Fiori. Within the square, it was a market selling mostly fruits and vegetables, but on the sides, there were many Italian restaurants selling the usual pizzas and pastas. We had a good meal there and just before leaving, we noticed that there was a little statue in the middle of the square...

Feeling curious I decided to went over to take a look. And feeling curious again, I also Googled about this person and was very surprised how deep the history was, and the significance of this statue. If you are interested, you can check out "Monumento a Giordano Bruno".

So that concluded my visit to Rome and it definitely was one of the best cities for sightseeing and there was so much history to soak in within this city. Any guesses where I will be heading to next? :P

And that's all I have today! Have you been to Rome or Italy? Let me know in the comments below!

Doctors tell us there are over seven million people who are overweight.

My roommate keeps saying that our house is haunted.
But I've lived here for last 216 years, and haven't heard anything unusual.
