Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.

There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!

Documenting all my entries for this 2025 Europe Trip:
Turkey - An Istanbul Adventure: From Blue Mosque to Bazaars
France - Exploring The Parisian Icons: Effiel Tower And Arc De Triomphe
France - Wandering Through Paris: The Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries
France - Strolling Through Paris: Notre Dame And The Seine

Hello Milan! For the final city of my Europe trip, we took the train from Rome to Milan and this was the Milan Centrale Station! Was amazed at how grand looking their train station looked! So let's hit the ground running and the first place of interest in Milan was Sforza Castle!

20250512_092735.jpg

There were many variations of the name of this place. There's Sforza Castle, Sforzesco Castle, and in their local language, Castello Sforzesco. We actually arrived at one of the side gates (instead of the front entrance) but we decided to head in first. Interesting that they had this thing that looked like a drawbridge, but it was all concrete already.

There was a signboard showing the structure and some history of Sforza Castle. This place actually had quite a colourful history if you were to Google - do check it out if you are interested in history!

Upon stepping into the castle grounds, what greeted us was this amazing scene! The castle walls looked amazing and I really liked the look and the contrast against the blue skies. Thankful for the good weather and clear skies. Hehe.

Some photos taken from various angles from inside the castle, as we were strolled the grounds and admired this historical castle.

This must be the front entrance. Very beautifully designed.

There was also a statue within the castle grounds too!

Other than the main ground, there were different sections within Sforza Castle. We took our time to explore the various parts, and here you could also see tour groups as well. (And they were all hiding in the shade hehe!)

Moving to the back of the Sforza Castle, here's probably what should have been the moat, to prevent intruders from entering the castle. There's no water now, and the greenery looked pretty good too!

As promised, after exploring the castle, we made our exit via the main entrance, and this photo was taken from outside the castle, just outside the main entrance. By this time, there were more visitors, but the castle did not feel crowded at all because it was just so big and spacious.

There was also a nice fountain in front of Sforza Castle. Under the hot weather, the fountain looked tempting but it was probably out of bounds to people. Haha.

Final shot! Combining the fountain and the front entrance of Sforza Castle! Loved this shot! What do you think?

Milan felt so unique and different from other European cities that we have visited so far (Paris, Nice, Rome). Compared to Rome, it's definitely less historical and they had more modern looking buildings. And I guess that's why we travel to different places because there would always be something interesting and different to experience in each city. Time to take a break before we move on to the next place of interest!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to Milan or Italy? Let me know in the comments below!

Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!

My city is not very clean. Often dangerous for tourists (pickpockets in the subway)... But certainly rich in history and fascinating places
