Indonesia - Spectacular Views Across Bintan

IMG_1140 (1).JPG

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the latest one being United Kingdom, I was going through my past travel photos, and I found this folder called "2011 Bintan".

Looking through the photos brought back special memories because this was the first time I actually travelled solo and as a very young adult, this was both an exciting and scary experience at the same time. Looking back, I was indeed brave and I think the trip was not just a personal milestone, but it made me more independent and was definitely good for my personal growth too.

Here's my earlier post(s) from this series!

Indonesia - Conquering New Heights In Bintan

After attempting the "obstacle course" in my previous post, I spent my remaining hours in Bintan wandering around and soaking in the spectacular views.

This was another part of the beach. Because it's an island, the beach is literally the perimeter when one walks along the coast.

Look at how clear the waters were!

Soon I felt hungry and I chanced upon a kelong restaurant. It's a structure built onto the waters so this meant I get to enjoy the sea breeze and the views while enjoying my lunch. Interestingly, I was the only customer.

The food was decent, and expectedly overpriced as what one would expect from a holiday resort, but that's an one-off expense on a vacation so it's ok. Great views and weather too. The blue waters always have a calming effect on me.

I happened to look down and the sight stunned me! There were so many fishes swimming beneath the restaurant! Not sure why though, is there food below?

After lunch, I resumed my exploration walk. Saw a jetty nearby too.

Chanced upon a signboard indicating a viewpoint pavilion and so I hiked a little to see what's there.

As clear as it stated, this was the pavilion!

And here's the view from the viewpoint! Not super spectacular but since the hike was manageable I think that's still worth a visit for the photos!

With that, I bade farewell to Bintan and ended up my first ever solo trip. It was relaxing and chilled, which was what I wanted. But there were also interesting elements like the activities which the resort had to offer. All in all, a fruitful trip!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to Bintan or Indonesia? Let me know in the comments below!
