Australia - Farm Experience At Churchill Island

IMG_4268.JPG

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe and the latest one being New Zealand, it's time to fly over to Australia!

Australia is a country that I have been to twice in my life. The first time was to Sydney in 2009, and the second time was to Melbourne in 2011. And I realised that's 14 years since I was last there! Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!

Here are the posts so far:

We continue our journey on the outskirts of Melbourne and one interesting place we visited was Churchill Island. The main attraction on this island was a Heritage Farm, and we didn't know what to expect and just came to be surprised.

After arriving at the visitor centre, what greeted us was huge patches of lavender plants! I have never seen lavender plants before so it was definitely something new. And as you would know, lavender had a strong unique smell so we could definitely smell it in the air.

We were not even at the farm yet but you see animals roaming already! Haha! Don't they look cute?

And we made our way and finally reached!

Interesting set of activities everyday for visitors to see and experience!

We walked around and looked at these little farm animals in their enclosures. Interesting that different animals can get along together in the same enclosure. Hehe.

Visitors could also buy food and feed the animals too!

This mouse(?) is so cute! Hehe!

Cow milking!

I didn't try but some of the kids were very excited and they had experienced staff guiding the entire process.

After watching the cow milking, we moved on to other parts of the farm and there's a beautiful horse!

More sheep! Were these sheep the ones that were roaming around openly at the entrance?

IMG_4310.JPG

Hmm what's this? A turkey?

All in all, it was quite an interesting activity to do in the morning, especially from a city dweller like me. I think kids would find it more fun compared to adult for such farm experiences, as for me, it was an eye opener and it's always nice to see cute little animals. A good way to destress as well. Hehe!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to any farms or Australia? Let me know in the comments below!

Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
