Weekend trip to Prague - The most beautiful old town I have ever seen (ENG/GER)

A few weeks ago it was time again for me to pursue my favorite activity of traveling.

This time, my friend @Melonqueen and I traveled to beautiful Prague. We had often heard beforehand that Prague is always worth a trip. Most of our friends who have already been to Prague also really want to go there again. That's why we used our last unplanned vacation days and booked three nights in Prague.

Our accommodation

For the three nights we stayed at the Quentin Hotel Prague. The hotel is located right at the entrance to the Old Town and the Charles Bridge is also within walking distance.

We also had a bit of luck with the room allocation. We had one of the few rooms that also had two skylights. This gave us a great view of the night and the starry sky in the evening.

The furnishings in the room and bathroom were also very good. If we had to criticize one thing, it would be the small selection at breakfast. However, as everything was good throughout, we always found enough tasty things.

There were also good parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. These were not very cheap due to the location in the old town, but they were easily accessible.

The old town of Prague

If you want to visit Prague's Old Town, you should definitely plan more than one day, as the Old Town is really huge and wonderfully preserved. In every alley you will find different stores that invite you to browse.

In the picture you can see the magnificent Gothic church. It looks even more magnificent after sunset.

In this picture you can see about a quarter of the old town behind us. You can also see the beginning of the Charles Bridge, which you should definitely visit. But I'll go into that in more detail in a moment.

Another absolute recommendation is the "Beautiful View" district. There are lots of great stores there too, but you can also climb an old church tower from which you have a great view over the city in all directions.

The castle

As with all old cities, a castle is a must in Prague.

Here you can see the castle and the surrounding buildings, which are part of the courtyard, at night.

In my opinion, however, the tour of the castle and the surrounding buildings was the "worst" of all the tours we undertook in Prague.

This was mainly due to the fact that the castle was really unimpressive from the inside. For the most part, it only consists of large barren rooms, none of which looked stately.

The church on the castle square, on the other hand, was much more ornate.

Here you will find beautiful ceiling frescoes and can marvel at a variety of great marble work everywhere.

The Charles Bridge

When visiting Prague, the Charles Bridge is of course a must-see. I really regret that I didn't have a drone at the time. Otherwise I would have loved to fly over the bridge and get some great shots.

The Charles Bridge is a hive of activity at almost any time of day. Musicians play the saxophone and artists offer portraits. The bridge is also decorated with many statues, which together with the dark stone give the bridge a very special charm.

At the end of the Charles Bridge, you can also visit the tower and once again get a great overview of the city.

With this great view over the Charles Bridge towards the castle, I conclude our short city trip to Prague.

One thing is already certain for us, and that is that we will be back. But in the summer so that we can enjoy the electro parties in the city as well as strolls along the Vltava.

In addition to the visually beautiful city, the excellent cuisine was also a huge plus for us.

Hallo liebe Pinmapples,

vor wenigen Wochen war es wieder soweit und ich bin meiner Lieblingstätigkeit dem Reisen nachgekommen.

Diesmal zog es meine Freundin @Melonqueen und mich in das wunderschöne Prag. Wir hatten bereits im Vorfeld sehr oft gehört, dass Prag immer eine Reise wert sei. Die meisten unserer Freunde, die bereits in Prag waren, wollen auch unbedingt nochmal dorthin reisen. Deshalb verwendeten wir unsere letzten unverplanten Urlaubstage und buchten drei Nächte in Prag.

Unsere Unterkunft

Für die drei Nächte sind wir im Quentin Hotel Prague abgestiegen. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Eingang der Altstadt und auch die Karlsbrücke ist fußläufig von dort zu erreichen.

Bei der Zimmerverteilung hatten wir außerdem etwas Glück. Wir hatten eines der wenigen Zimmer, welches zusätzlich über zwei Dachfenster verfügt. Dadurch hatte man Abends einen tollen Blick in die Nacht und den Sternenhimmel.

Auch die Ausstattung des Zimmers und des Badezimmers war sehr gut. Wenn man eine Sache bemängeln müsste, dann wäre es die geringe Auswahl beim Frühstück. Da aber durchgängig alles gut war haben wir immer ausreichend leckere Sachen gefunden.

In der direkten Nähe gab es außerdem gute Parkplätze. Diese waren auf Grund der Altstadtlage zwar nicht ganz günstig, dafür aber gut erreichbar.

Die Prager Altstadt

Wer die Prager Altstadt besichtigen möchte, sollte auf jeden Fall mehr als einen Tag einplanen, da die Altstadt wirklich riesig und wunderbar erhalten ist. In jeder Gasse findet man unterschiedliche Läden die zum stöbern einladen.

Auf dem Bild seht ihr die prächtige gotische Kirche. Nach Sonnenuntergang sieht sie nochmal ein ganzes Stück prachtvoller aus.

Auf diesem Bild könnt Ihr hinter uns ca. ein Viertel der Altstadt sehen. Außerdem seht Ihr den Anfang der Karlsbrücke, welche Ihr unbedingt besichtigen solltet. Aber darauf gehe ich gleich nochmal genauer ein.

Eine weitere absolute Empfehlung ist das Viertel "Schöne Aussicht". Auch dort gibt es viele tolle Läden, aber auch ein alter Kirchturm, von dem ihr in alle Richtungen einen tollen Ausblick über die Stadt habt, lässt sich besteigen .

Das Schloss

Wie bei allen alten Städten darf auch in Prag ein Schloss nicht fehlen.

Hier seht Ihr das Schloss und die umliegenden Gebäude, die mit zum Hof gehören, bei Nacht.

Die Besichtigung des Schlosses und der umliegenden Gebäude war aus meiner Sicht allerdings von allen Besichtigungen, welche wir in Prag unternommen haben, die "schlechteste".

Dies lag vor allem daran, dass das Schloss von Innen wirklich wenig beeindruckend war. Zum Großteil besteht es nur aus großen kargen Räumen, welche alle nicht herrschaftlich aussahen.

Die auf dem Schlossplatz ansässige Kirche war wiederum deutlich kunstvoller eingerichtet.

Hier findet ihr wunderschöne Deckenfresken und könnt überall eine Vielzahl an tollen Marmorarbeiten bestaunen.

Die Karlsbrücke

Bei einem Besuch in Prag darf natürlich auf keinen Fall die Karlsbrücke fehlen. Hier bedauere ich es auch sehr, dass ich zu diesen Zeitpunkt noch keine Drone besaß. Sonst wäre ich die Brücke sehr gerne abgeflogen und hätte einige tolle Aufnahmen getätigt.

Fast zu jeder Tageszeit herrscht auf der Karlsbrücke ein buntes Treiben. Musiker spielen Saxophon und Künstler bieten Porträtarbeiten an. Dazu ist die Brücke mit sehr vielen Statuen verziert, welche der Brücke zusammen mit ihrem dunklen Gestein einen ganz besonderen Charme geben.

Am Ende der Karlsbrücke könnt Ihr zudem den Tower besichtigen und erhaltet einmal mehr einen tollen Überblick über die Stadt.

Mit diesem tollen Ausblick über die Karlsbrücke Richtung Schloss schließe ich unseren kurzen Städtetripp nach Prag ab.

Auch für uns ist schon eins sicher und zwar, dass wir wiederkommen werden. Allerdings im Sommer, um dann neben Spaziergängen an der Moldau auch die Elektropartys in der Stadt genießen zu können.

Neben der optisch wunderschönen Stadt war aber auch die sehr gut Küche ein riesen Pluspunkt für uns.
