Hello @worldmappin, @nilewrites here. I am new to Hive and this is my first time to write a travel blog. I do hope this will goes well and I can make this through.
I was able to capture random snaps of the stunning view of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur and I am very excited to share these photos with you.
We took the Dumingag-Midsalip road as planned, as the access road going to one of the beautiful spot of the municipality of Sominot. For the whole journey, the Cabaloran Mountain served as our landmark aside from using Google Maps. This mountain is high enough to be visible not to the municipality itself where it is situated but also to the neighboring municipalities. Its peak was capped with white cottony clouds that made it looks magical and breathtaking.
I couldn't resist the charm of the stunning places we passed by, so I took my phone out from my pocket and started to took snapshots. I abled to pass this road 12 years ago, but it was totally different than nowadays. The road is now passable and very convenient for travelers not to mention the bonus-the beautiful scenery. Before it was humpy, bumpy road, literally, very rocky road that only motorcycles could pass by.
The Ecuan River, the first river upon entering the municipality of Midsalip from Dumingag. This river remains the same after the decade. The only thing that changed is that, it has now a bridge when before you had to took the hanging bridge. The water remains clear, clean, very nature and untouched. You cannot see traces or manifestations of mining activities by just looking at this beautiful river.
The beautiful rice fields of Timbaboy at the foot of Cabaloran Mountain showcases the rich agricultural activity of the place. Horses and cows enjoyed chewing the green young grasses. The sight is very #bukidfeels and shows the colorful culture of the Subanen Tribe (the people of the river).
The place showcases its development through visible building at the heart of the town. The bahay-kubo (hut) that families usually had were now replaced with concrete houses. Several banks and business establishments were already found in that area. I felt happy deep inside my heart. I now realized that the local and national government did something for the tribe.
The last scenery that made me stopped, go down from my motorcycle and tried to get the best angle of it is the Bibilop River. The proud river flows along the rice fields confidently with its crystal clear water, giving life to the rice plants beside it. Sunset must be very wonderful and magical around this area but it was 9 in the morning when I passed by here.
I hope I gave justice to these wonderful photos through my words. I know I am not yet good at this, but I will keep learning and will write more in this community.
This trip reminded me of how much beauty can be found in the quiet corners. Midsalip, with its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and peaceful rivers, deserves to be seen. Though this is just the beginning of my journey as a travel blogger, I hope to share more stories like this and continue discovering hidden gems along the way.
