Spending our Early Morning at Tacloban Astrodome Park, Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing great! In this blog post, I will be sharing with you some beautiful sights during our stay at Tacloban Astrodome. But let me share with you first how we get there.

Mom has an scheduled check up today at Tacloban City. We travelled at two o'clock early in the morning and reached the city at five in the morning. Since the clinic opens at eight, we still have three more hours to wait. Mom and I decided to spend some time at the Tacloban Astrodome area which is also near the Yolanda Memorial Park and the boardwalk.

Tacloban Astrodome also known as Tacloban Convention Center is an indoor arena said to have a capacity of 4500 seating. We used to hold our big assemblies in this venue but after typhoon Yolanda, the astrodome was greatly destroyed. But it is great to see the astrodome now fully restored and functional. Around its outside surface you can find mini cafes, stores, organization offices and even a pasalubong center.

Around the area there is a landscape pathway with trees and benches. You can see many people exercising around the area in the early morning. I would say this is the place where most people go to jog and walk.In the afternoon people gather in the benches while taking some snacks.

As we walk a little further, we can see the playground. There is a monkey bar, slides and other sturctures where children could play. It is a very wide area. I also appreciate how the sorrounding is well maintained. There are people cleaning the grounds even in the early morning.

Also, the astrodome is just nearby the sea. So there was a boardwalk built where you can also see the wide sea. It is now a concrete pavement and you can also see some people jog and walk along it.

Another wonderful sight around the astrodome is the Yolanda Memorial Park. It is a park to remember typhoon Yolanda victims, internationally known as typhoon Haiyan which killed thousands of people due to a storm surge. There were even tablets on the wall where names of those who died were engraved.

I really love how wide the area is and you got to see many structures around. It is a good place for exercising and for hanging out with family and friends.

Thanks for reading this post. Until next time. Love Nes.
