Last weekend, I went there with my siblings. We packed our bags, brought our phones for the camera, and set out on our little road trip. It took us around 1.5 hours from Cagayan de Oro. The drive was already fun, we saw tall pine trees, curvy roads, and cool mountain air that made us smile. We even rolled down the windows to feel the wind on our faces.
When we reached Dahilayan Forest Park, the first thing that caught our eye was Jessie’s Diner.
And right outside the diner, wow! we saw real vintage cars. Not fake, not just for show, but real classic cars from way back. It was like stepping into the past!
I am not very familiar with car models and brands, but I was actually amazed by how these vintage cars look. They are shiny, vibrant, gorgeous, and still look great, and I even wanted to ask the workers if those cars are still in running condition.
There were also old-style gas pumps, Route 66 signs, and other cool stuff from the past. The whole place felt like a scene from a classic American movie.
Many people were taking photos. Some cars can be touched, and you can open the hood, while others are enclosed with ropes, which means people are not allowed to touch them or come near them. Kids were pointing and asking questions. I couldn’t stop smiling. I took many pictures, and every angle looked great.
Families, couples, barkadas, everyone was having fun. The air was cool, the place was clean, and everything felt peaceful.
We went inside Jessie’s Diner, and it felt just as cool as the outside. The chairs were red and soft, the floor had black-and-white tiles, and there was fun music playing from the jukebox. It felt like we were in a diner from the 1950s. We ordered cheeseburgers, and their cheeseburger is literally cheesy.
There are a lot more things you can do and enjoy in Dahilayan. They have the Forest Luge Ride, the ATV Trail, which is muddy, wild, and full of laughs, the Hanging Bridge, which was a little scary but the view was amazing, and fun games like mini golf and bumper boats.
I really enjoyed this trip. If you love old cars, cool air, and adventure, you will surely like Dahilayan. It’s not every day you get to eat a burger beside a vintage car, with pine trees and fresh air all around you.
It’s a place where you can relax, explore, and take lots of beautiful pictures. Call your barkadas (friends), and go visit Dahilayan. See you under the pine trees and maybe beside a beautiful old car! 🚗🌲❤️
