The Hidden Paradise: Hermits Cove

Happy Tuesday, dear Hivers!

One of the beautiful beaches I visited in South Cebu was Hermitโ€™s Cove, located along Kantabogon Road, Aloguinsan, Cebu. It was such a beautiful place, and the view was truly worth the trip.
Before reaching the beach, we had to pass through a forested area surrounded by trees and plants. It felt like we were discovering a hidden paradise! The place was peaceful, and I still remember how amazed I was when we finally reached our destination.

Guess what? This experience happened back in 2015! Yes, that was already 11 years ago. Time flies so fast, but thankfully, I still have all these pictures saved. Looking at them again brings back so many good memories.
Do you know what made the trip even more memorable? The road going to the beach was not that developed yet, at least from what I remember. There were so many plants and trees along the way, and the path was not very clear. We rode a motorcycle and asked someone to take us there because we were not very familiar with the place.

There were three of us on that trip, and we were college classmates. Since we were working in the same area here in Cebu, we still had the chance to see each other and spend time together. It was one of those simple adventures that became a special memory.

When we finally arrived, I was amazed by the view. The beach was so beautiful! We also had to walk down some stairs to reach the shore. It felt like we were up on a mountain and had to go down to discover the beach below. The experience was really worth it.

Now, imagine how much has changed since 2015! Based on some posts I have seen online, there are already more accommodations in the area, and the road going there is said to be much better now. I hope I can visit Hermit's Cove again someday and see how much it has changed.

For those who want to visit Hermit's Cove by public transportation, here is a simple guide:
How to get there:

  1. Go to the Cebu South Bus Terminal.
  2. Take a bus going to Aloguinsan. Ask the conductor first if the bus passes near your destination.
  3. Once you reach the town proper of Aloguinsan, you can hire a habal-habal to take you to Hermits Cove. Make sure to confirm the fare before riding.

If you love beaches, and nature away from the busy city, this might be a place worth adding to your travel list.
Sometimes, the best memories come from simple trips with good friends. Even after 11 years, these photos still remind me of a beautiful place and a happy moment in my life.

Based on the photos I saw online, Hermits Cove still looks pretty much the same as I remember it. The beautiful view and the natural surroundings are still there. The main difference I noticed is that there are now accommodations on the upper part of the area, before you go down the stairs to reach the beach. It looks like visitors now have more options if they want to stay longer and enjoy the place.

It's nice to see that even after 11 years, Hermits Cove still keeps its natural beauty. Hopefully, I can visit again soon and experience it once more!

Have you visited Hermit's Cove before? How was your experience? Feel free to share your stories in the comments.

Thank you dear Hivers for taking the time to read. See in my next blog!
