Hello dear hivers, I want to share with you the Japanese Peace Tower that I visited recently and still inside BurnHam Park. It's my first time to visit the tower and I don't have knowledge that there's a tower inside Burnham Park in Baguio City. If you remember about what I shared about Burnham Park, there are lots of attraction you can visit and I didn't step all of it. So, this time, I want to share with you this part which I'm talking about, Japanese Peace Tower. Basically, it's closed to Baguio Athletic Bowl and because Burnham park is wider, you need to ask for a guide especially if you are a tourist, so that it's easy for you to reach the area you want to visit. But if you're that person who want to explore,it's a good choice, just ask someone who pass by.
Anyway, I just rode in a jeepney because at that day, it seem to rain and I forget to bring an umbrella with me. When I got there, the entrance welcomed me with this signboard with a reminder below and a description about Burnham Park. There's also a house that where I think police stayed because I saw few of them.
The area is not that wide and it's really surrounded with trees. And there were pine trees that being planted.
Along the path, there were commemorative markers.
I continued my walk and amazed of the area because they really maintain the cleanliness - no trashes.
There were concrete benches also, so it's really perfect to unwind here especially if you want alone time or with your love ones who loves this kind of surroundings. And you can really feel the breeze of the fresh air, aside that Baguio is a cold place especially during BER months, however, the coldest season starts in December and lasts until February. So you really need thick jackets to warm your body.
Then, here's another signboard showing when this tower inaugurated.
Accordingly, this Japanese Peace Tower built as for memorial friendship between Japanese and Philippines after the World War II. It also symbolizes reconciliation between the two countries amidst the conflict before. And, still many people visit this site to reflect.
When I continued my walk, I found this mushroom and these flowers that I think can also thrive in the forest because it's like I saw similar flower in the forest.
As I reached the end of the area, I asked an aged woman if there's a continuation of this area but she said that, the path going down it's a way to the swimming pool. So, I just stopped and spend more minutes there just to refresh my mind a little bit. After this, I came back at Camp 8 where we were staying. Luckily, I just arrived when it drizzled. So, that's all for today, and I will show you more about tourist attractions here in Baguio City because I myself hasn't been in such tourist spot.
Note: All pictures were taken by me in Realme C53 and the first picture, I edited it on Canva.
