My experience during my school project

Hello hive, hope you all are in the best state of mind.

I will like to share my experience with you on how I did my school project.first is the topic Which is

TO DETERMINE THE ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF A LEAF Called SIDA ACUTA.

Like seriously it was not an easy task but God help me through it by following the necessary steps that was given as guide lines so let me start by listing out the **steps then we take it from there

-preparation of sample
-Checking for bacteria activity
-reason for carring out this experiment
-advice to the upcoming researchers

Preparation of the sample.
First I have to identify the leaf by going to the bush an plug some of the frech leafs, then subject it to drying under room temperature for some week why I choose room temperature is because I want to make sure that it pharmacological properties are not distroy. So after the leaf has drid up I now pound it into powder then I seived it to get my fine powder. then I now soak with alcohol for two days that is 48 hours which I now filter with a laboratory filter paper, I collect my solution (powder of SIDA ACUTA leaf + alcohol) and the residus was thrown away. then I proceeded to everporation which I achive it by putting the solution in glassware and placing it in the water bath everporator under low temperature for another 48 hours to achieve a past like sample. You can sed they is a very streefull and time consuming. That was how I achive my sample for the experiment.

Secondly, was to check if the leaf has antibacterial activity.
that means if the leaf has the properties to inhibit the growth of bacterials in the vody. So this task was achieved by punching some papers and putting them in the sample for the paper to absorb the sample after which I good some bacteria causing microorganism from the hospital to carry out the test.

First I made a culture of the microorganism of two different organism.
Then the paper I soack I place two to each of the culture medium containing the microorganisms
Then I place the culture medium in a favourable condition of growth in the oven till the next day
Which I check if the leaf extact was able to inhibit the growth of bacterials

How TO CHECK
Zone of inhibition: this when the extract can inhibit the growth of bacterials you will discover a clear zone around the paper that was soack in the extract but if there is no clear zone that means the extract did not have the properties to inhibit the growth of that orgnsim.
But in this my experiment I noticed a clear zone in both cutlure medium but the size of the zone was different based on different bacteria causing orgnsim. For E coli the zone was large while for Psenodomonas the zone was small that means it have more effect on E coli than Psenodomonas.

Reason for carrying out this experiment

To know if plants leafs are really medicinal

Advice to the upcoming researchers.
I recommend that many other people should go in to this experiment because I believe that this leaf contain more than wat I discovered ealier an if more should be discovered I think it will be good 6 recommend it into drugs formulation and this will boste the health society .
