Greetings, fellow human travelers! How’s it going...
It’s been over 5 months since I last took a good little trip on my motorcycle, mostly because of financial and time constraints. But thank God, this past weekend I finally got the chance to visit a small town called Jericó, and let me tell you it’s absolutely amazing!

This little town is about 100 km from the city of MedellÃn, and it took us about 3 hours to get there by motorcycle. We could’ve gone faster since the roads are new, but I’m a cautious man and well, the idea is to arrive safely, haha.
When you reach the town, you’re greeted by beautiful colonial architecture and cobblestone streets. We stayed at Hotel Felicina, a clean and simple place. One night cost us 130,000 Colombian pesos (around $35 USD). They had parking for the bike, hot water, and internet (no meals included).
There’s a lot to do in Jericó, and below I’ll list some of the main activities, along with my experience in each:
Jericó is a very Catholic town so much so that there can be simultaneous Masses on weekends in different churches. I won’t lie, I didn’t visit all of them, but I did see around five.
The most special ones are the pink cathedral, which is a tribute to Saint Mother Laura it’s gorgeous, imposing, and looks straight out of a movie and of course the main church, which has a special museum in its basement.

Jericó also has a rich cultural side. There’s a museum underneath one of the churches focused on the Catholic religion. We went in, and it only cost $1 USD. Inside, you can take a closer look at this fascinating religious world. Here are some photos.

We also visited a heritage house where we learned more about Jericó (the entrance there is free). It’s full of historical documents about the town, and there’s even a library with books dating back to 1853 (those red ones in the top left of the photo).

There are also other museums, like the music museum and one for old artifacts, with an entrance fee of about $2 USD. Here are some photos from that part:

Mother Laura is the first Colombian saint, and she was born in this town hence the strong Catholic devotion here.
The tour included visiting the pink church, her school, and finally the house museum dedicated to her life, where they even have a very small piece of one of her ribs.
I noticed there were many pilgrimages; people came just to visit this part of town and give thanks for the favors received through her intercession.

Every tourist must climb up to the Christ statue to enjoy an amazing view of Jericó it’s quite a large town. The climb is free, and once you get there, the view is stunning. Here are some photos, including a panoramic shot I took from up there.

The town is incredibly beautiful—it feels like time has stood still. It’s full of color and transports you to the past with its **colonial style **doors and balconies.
The locals are very friendly, and one of the town’s biggest attractions is its 100 stairways, which are perfect for taking great photos. Jericó still preserves that small town atmosphere that many people from Colombia and around the world are looking for.

What can I say? Jericó is definitely worth a visit if you want to explore small towns. I honestly think you need about 3 days to fully enjoy everything it has to offer (we actually missed a few things). Prices for food and activities are quite reasonable too (I’ll make another post about that soon).
That’s all for now!
Thank you so much for your time, and as always, remember to learn something new, exercise, and seek YOUR happiness.
Blessings—and remember: traveling gives you a story to tell…
