The New Capitol of Guimaras Hits Different: New Pride

Have you visit a place that’s not done yet… but already Instagram-worthy?

It’s the weekend again and i am a little bored just staying at home.. so instead of macrophotography,, i want take pictures of something new — something big,,, maybe buildings will do..

So I packed my camera, grabbed my phone and off I went to check out the new Provincial Capitol of Guimaras!!! yep, it’s still under construction but it’s almost done...

🌤️ First thing I saw,, Bright, Breezy, and Big Mango Energy
When I got there, the sun was shining so brightly,, so yes, it was very hot.. but it's windy,, at least i will not get sweaty while taking pictures..

The first thing that caught my eye is the giant “GUIMARAS” sign with an even giant-er mango beside it. As expected, everyone was lining up to take their photos there.. Kids were posing.. Titos were taking panoramas they’ll never open again. and of course i waited like 20 minutes before everyone is finished so i can get clean shots..

the place feels new and clean and wider than before,,

🏐 Courts, Courts, Courts!
right behind the GUIMARAS sign there’s a wide basketball/volleyball court,, an open space where tournaments happen during the Manggahan Festival.. where everyone can enjoy watching and supporting their team..

it’s a nice place for community gathering,, family can have a picnic under the tall trees,, you can take pictures of the new building while enjoying streetfoods,, or you can go jogging or walking around the capitol ground..

the Capitol building itself,, it’s giving "ancient Rome but make it Guimaras." big columns, grand design, but with a clean, modern twist.. You can tell they really thought about this,, it’s not just some boring government building.

as i walking closer, i felt a strange mix of pride and peace... pride because, wow, Guimaras really did that. Peace because the whole area was just so open and breezy, like the wind itself was proud too.

it’s not finished yet,, but it’s already a beautiful place to visit, hang out, or even just stare at and wonder "How many mangoes did that giant one cost?" 🤣 just kidding..
