Is Education A Scam In Africa? Nigeria As a Case Study

Statistics as shown that Nigerians are one of the most educated people in Africa and in the world. The rate of Nigerians studying in America, Europe ,Asia and Australia is on high increase daily. Each year Uk, Canada and America University welcome Nigerian into their institution. Nigerians are plugging huge money to get educated home and abroad. But yet they have nothing to show for it. The rate of unemployment in Nigeria is sky rocketing each day.

The question of education being a scam in Africa as been a major issue among youth and parent in Africa for many years. After investing so much time, money and energy in education many youth find it hard to get a job. Many parents plugged in there life saving to educate their children but they have nothing to show forth for it. Uneducated people are making it big than many educated people. This worry as lead many Nigerian youth to think "Japa' is the solution. Many youth beginning to thinking of traveling out to get education, believing this will give them better opportunity in other countries.
Many youth pass through this process but they ended up regretting because they are shadow of their self. This pain as made many people think education a scam.

Africans are holding wrong believe that education is an escape route out of poverty. The purpose of education is to eliminate the mind and shape the mind. Many people in Africa as build a believe system that if you are educated you will become rich or get a good job. This Is a wrong philosophy in Africa education system that need to be changed. it's only skill that gives you assurance of getting a job. Been educated is not a guarantee way of one getting a job or one will be rich.

Many youth in Africa lack skill, they only focus on getting university education. Youth that are making it in Africa as soft skill or informal education skill set. Many youth in Nigeria as ended up as a barber, carpenter and makeup artist after their university education. Nothing is bad with this professional but the system made it look like only the poor and failed people are in the profession.

Nothing is wrong with getting soft skill or inform skill. Education system in Nigeria is the problem and not the youth. Universities in Nigeria as started teach entrepreneurship with the aim of teaching their students skill set. But this goal as not been fully achieve because the universities set up entrepreneurship program for there selfish reason of exploiting student and generating more money.

Learning soft skill is the way forward, there is boundless opportunity on the internet. All you need is right information and skill up.
