Ich habe mit ChatGPT ein kleines Hello-World-Programm für den C64 entwickelt, der diesen Effekt demonstriert.
Witzigerweise hat ChatGPT Visual Basic und C64 Basic verwechselt und wollte einen Modulo-Operator nutzen, den es in C64 Basic V2 noch gar nicht gegeben hat.

The C64 was a legendary 8-bit computer that came on the market in the early 1980s and was technically very limited by today's standards.
For example, you couldn't even use the whole screen, but depending on the PAL or NTSC version, there was a pretty hefty border. In the PAL version the frame was even thicker.
On the other hand, you could change the color of the border by writing the color value to memory address 53280 (0xD020) and take advantage of the timing of the TV scanlines to create a color effect if you changed the frame color fast enough.
I developed a small Hello World program for the C64 using ChatGPT that demonstrates this effect.
Funny enough ChatGPT confused Visual Basic and C64 Basic and wanted to use a modulo operator that didn't exist in C64 Basic V2.

I never heard of this program language but it's kind of crazy how ChatGPT can write the code. It had to do a lot of stuff to create the right code but it's still able to give people a head start.

GPT4 wird schon noch deutlich interessanter. Es wird sich sowieso noch viel tun.
For certain tasks, it's quicker to get a human to do it than mess about with a chat prompt.
And here in lies the problem, as people come to rely upon ChatGPT more, for complex tasks, the human oversight is going to be lost. Imagine the frustration of trying to get it to correct its mistakes when the project is not so simple as this one.

Flashing screen colours on the C64 brings back memories of games loaders. 😀
Today there are many updates compared to that time and in the future even the current technologies seem to be outdated.
Few of my friends have used it and they are saying that initially it gives very good results but after few days it starts giving wrong results. It's just the beginning, everything will be fine with time.
