If You Want Peace, Get Ready For...

The troubles, the fears, and the negativity,
They bite hard whenever we feed them rightly,
It is common knowledge that there are two sides to humanity,
The good and bad side and whichever you feed always win.

The world, though cruel as a bit of smile in it,
If we look closer, we will truly get to see,
That in every pain, there's indeed a miracle to it,
And that nothing happens without a reason to it.

Most of us want it, a peaceful world we crave,
But how can there be peace without some loads of struggles,
This is what life teaches us,
To get peace, we have to get ready for war.

Nothing comes for free in our world,
Even the faintest smile as something to it,
A happy person wants something in return,
A sad person wants something too,
And most especially, the preacher that preaches to your ears.

The glamorous thoughts that always filled us in,
With positive feelings that are hard to reach,
But we keep on toiling day by day,
Because of the peace we crave.

Unending behind silent tears and struggles,
We see a little light flickering around,
The flicker caused by humans like us,
Who saw the need to feed the bad side.

With them, comes in extra struggles,
Life bring them more to our part,
And we sometimes succumb to that side that hunts us,
With hatred in our heart to hurt them back.

But, what will it bring us?
The presence of hate and evil we have allowed in?
It'll eat us whole and control us,
Until we blow off the flickering light in our hearts

And then what? We let the world burn more,
Adding misery to the life of those who were once like us,
Their pain fills our ears, and the little goodness in our heart may rise.

...and when it does? What happens?
Oh, I know, the sense of guilt cripples us,
Then we cry and say, "How did I get here?"
And there'll be no one there to give us answers,
Because we are the answers to our dilemma.

What happens next? Depression may occur,
Suicidal thoughts may turn out to be the easiest path,
And sometimes we take it and find ourselves no more.

However, the people that hurt us lives,
Enjoying their life to their evil bliss,
They won't even miss you,
But your loved ones will surely feel you.

When death arises, that's the end of our lives on earth. Whatever life may await us next, only we will be there. I know it is hard to be good seeing how cruel the world is. Still, it isn't hard to be good. When you allow goodness in and true to yourself, lots of things happen that outshine the challenges of life.

I know you have noticed that the rich keep getting richer while the poor are left with the burnt part to scrape. It is hard. But, there's a reason the rich people you see never fall from their rank, and that's because most of them have contributed to people like them.

They help themselves rise, marry their daughter or sons off if things get critical for them, and still maintain their rich status in the eyes of society. But that doesn't mean they are perfect. Some of your life's are better than theirs, especially health wise.

But, look at us, the masses. Those of us who don't have much. We kill ourselves most. We find it hard to help ourselves and rather feed on someone like us because the person shows some attributes of humanity.

Instead of us to make sure our circles grow with us, we act nonchalant like we are the ones suffering and feeding off them. It is sad seeing all these. And yes, we still crave peace, but how can peace arrive with no war?

We fail to realize that if we truly want peace, we need to get ready for life. And life will always throw lots of mischief our path. Our actions during those times will tell if peace is what we truly crave or just vanity.
