Good morning all, doing my 5 minutes free writing with prompt - Retired Goldfish. Hope you enjoy the story.
Sean, an avid pet lover has a heart for almost every animal that cross his path since he was a kid. But among all, his favorite is keeping goldfish as pet. His reason is very simple, Sean was unable to swim due to an near death accident as a kid thus he developed a phobia for water. Thus he enjoys watching his goldfishes swimming carefree in the water, that helps to cheer him up.
Recently, he is facing a difficult situation, one of his favorite goldfish that has been with him for the past 10 years is showing obvious signs of aging as it is losing its vibrant colors and also having lower energy level.
Sean decided to retire this goldfish, but he doesn't know what to do with retired goldfish as this is his first time. He decided against releasing the retired goldfish back to nature as it is old and has been home breed all the while, it might lack the survival skill required in nature.
The next option he considered was to re-home the retired goldfish, handing over to a more experienced owner or pet store for free.
What advise do you have for Sean?
