Good morning all, doing my 5 minutes free writing with prompt - Just one more kilometer. Hope you enjoy the story.
John felt a sharp pain in his left ankle just as he hits the 41km mark. Running in his first marathon, an event that he had set his sight on and been training for from a year ago.
With just one more kilometer to go to the finishing line, John decided to just push it through when he look ahead, seeing the crowd and volunteers cheering him on. His mental strength took over and he played a quick flash back of the last 40km, if he surrender now, that 40 goes to waste.
I believe most of us would have been John at least once in our lives, though in different circumstances, we were very close to finishing our tasks, our studies, our projects, to be throw with a problem that irritates us so much that we feel like giving up. But the moment we gave up, all our previous efforts go down the drain. It doesn't count for anything even if we are 1 step away from finishing, we will be marked as DNF - Did Not Finished. But pushing through will put us on the finished list, irregardless of the results, w finished something we started.
Looking forward to achieve your goals should be in our mind, not to look back.
Nice story :)
Thanks! I hope it inspire you too.
