Lindy came home with a new tattoo of her boyfriend's name on the back of her neck. Growing up in a traditional asian family. Her parents are unable to appreciate tattoos despite it being very common and widely accepted these days as a form of body art to be ink. Thus she had it at the back of her neck and covers it with her hair.
Her parents disapproval of tattoos originated from the fact that in the 1970s, tattoos were symbols of association to gangs. Despite hidding the tattoo, it was still discovered by her father when he walked past while she was dryong her hair.
Knowing that Lindy is in a new relationship, her father asked to meet him over dinner over the weekend. He's not interfering, just the love for the daughter prompted him to want to know who she is in a relationship with. Lindy hesitated, knowing her parents and the fact that her boyfriend is heavily inked to a point he had a whole painting on his back would irritate her parents but still she setup the meeting after multiple reminders.
True enough, when they first saw her boyfriend, they asked "Is he even wearing clothes" ?
