Good morning all, doing my 5 minutes free writing with prompt - I am not normal. Hope you enjoy the story.
Jess cofidently proclaimed "I am not normal" during a casual self introduction to her new class for the new semester. This caught many of her new classmates of guard.
"I can draw really well simply from memory" Jess went on to explain.
It turns out Jess was diagnosed as autistic and after many years of hard work from her parents, she is now able to have interaction to a basic level, but like this self introduction is very much from years of training and script reading. And her talent is she has photographic memory and an draw really well, some gifts we know associated with autism.
From the above, we know that God has given fairness to the world, he has made some special, "not normal" but he gifted them with special talent that would likewise requires a lot of training from the normal folks. Thus, instead of using terms like " not normal", "abnormal" I think a better term would be differently abled. This is more apt and a more respectful term to use for our differently abled friends.
Thank you for being Ecencial!
