"Josh! How many times have I told you to make your bed after you wake up? I am not your maid ! " Yelled his mom.

" It's all right mom, it's my room, I am fine with it that way" replied Josh nonchalantly.

This is very typical of any families without any domestic helpers and the children wasn't trained to form a habit of making their own beds, and also to participate in the cleaning of the house.

Before the arrival of the kids, all these chores would be handled by the parents. This might have continued even after the kids were born into the family as they were doted on and some parents simply allowed them to be the king of the house and all household chores were not on their list. Parents were almost like maids in the house. This might be make worse if the father did not lead by example by making sure he also make the bed, clear the table and showing respect to the mother in the house.

Let's not forget our parents does grow old and as they age, they frail and will need our support in their daily lives, as their children, it is our responsibility and we must never use the statement of " I am not your maid with them" without them, there's no us.
