"Mom, have you ever told a lie?" Asked Joshua innocently.
"I think most of us would have told at least one lie in our lives, why do you ask?" Replied her mother.

It turns out that during moral education today, they were being taught honesty and to do that one must not lie.

What about an honest lie? I believe many of us like Joshua's mother, we would have told at least one lie, but at times, in view of circumstances, we may have to tell an honest lie.

Let me illustrate with some simple example, an honest lie would usually be told in extreme bad situation but we would like to keep the other party motivated.

A husband whose hobby is to collect figurines and these usually cost a bomb, unacceptable to the wife. In such case, the husband would not hide the fact that he bought the figurines but he would like about the price to keep the wife happy. Another scenario whereby we have to deploy the tactic of honest lie, when the family has to tell an elderly of a young grandchildren who has unfortunately passed on due to an accident. Probably a better way to pass the new would be to tell the elderly the young one needs to be on overseas assignment for a long while. Fact that they are not around and now with AI, this item can hold by technology.
