Fail to plan = Plan to fail, a statement John wrote on the whiteboard when he enters the classroom today.

It's not on his lesson plan today to lecture additional material outside of the curriculum, but as he talks to his class committee to check on the progress on their preparation for the upcoming annual track and field meet. To his disappointment, the class haven't got a plan, not even the draft event participation list. No class slogan, no class cheers. The meet is just 2 weeks away, and as John is talking about it with his colleagues, other classes had already had a firm up participation list.

We are all creatures of habit and thrives on familiarity, we also don't enjoy handling unexpected situation. How do we prevent that? It's through thorough planning and practicing. Through this process, we will be force to think through the details of what will happen, then from it, we form up of what is to be expected. When everyone involved is clear on the plan and expectations then less likely the chance of deviation.

Fine details can go to what time to report, what to wear and where to meet are basic but key information that needs to be plan out and coordinated, thus when our reply to others is we haven't got a plan, we are neither giving out a good impression nor are we setting up for success.

So the next time when we were being asked for our plan, let's avoid haven't got a plan as our answer.
