Pront: Ella se fue a la guerra.

Normalmente, cuando se habla de guerras y de batallas, uno piensa en las películas estadounidenses, que son colocadas comúnmente en las pantallas de las televisoras, y que muchas veces, en realidad siempre vienen cargadas con un componente ideológico enorme, que termina haciendo pensar que ellos son la potencia dueña del mundo, y que nadie tiene derecho a sublevarse a su poder y sus criterios.

Pero, si uno se abre un poco, y deja la influencia de Hollywood, puede ver también la visión de otras realidades y de otras visiones del mundo. Y una de las más interesantes, es la visión de la milicia rusa. Y una de las cosas que más me impresionó, es que en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, las mujeres rusas, participaron activamente en la guerra, como soldados y pilotos.

Y lejos de la visión del héroe estadounidense, en esas películas rusas, yugoslavas y de otras zonas de Europa y euroasiáticas, se veía un papel activo de la mujer, y se veían en esas imágenes sus miedos, sus debilidades, sus fortalezas y le daban un componente realmente humano. No solo de la condición que tenían, sino de las razones por las que luchaban.

Después, cuando ya era adolescente, pude ver que también había otra realidad en la región latinoamericana, y acá en nuestra región, hubo guerras verdaderas, que casi no salieron a la luz pública, ya que eran las peleas de pueblos indígenas y de pequeños países luchando en contra de la hegemonía de los Estados Unidos, en sus regiones.

Y ahí también hubo muchas mujeres que fueron a la guerra en la selva, para defender sus ideales y para poder darle un futuro diferente a sus hijos, así se vieron situaciones como las de El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, entre otras tantas luchas que hubo en nuestra región y que fueron silenciadas por los medios de comunicación social, que dependían muchas veces de la influencia delos EE.UU.

En mi experiencia personal, tuve la oportunidad de conocer en Bolivia, a una mujer que estuvo en la guerra del agua, y en ella, fue herida y además detenida. Sus hijos, me contaron cómo ella, había cambiado su mundo cuando volvió de la guerra a casa.

Ellos tuvieron que visitar a su mamá, en el hospital y en la cárcel, y su mamá siempre les decía, que esa situación era debido a la lucha que debieron hacer, para que no les quitaran el agua las empresas privadas, y ella le decía a sus hijos, que la herida y la prisión, era un pago que ella pagaba con gusto, debido a que el pueblo ganó la guerra y las trasnacionales francesas y estadounidenses, no pudieron quitarles el agua.

Lo cierto, es que con la historia de Cándida, la boliviana guerrera, con las otras mujeres que conocí que en su momento fueron guerrilleras, y con las historias que vi y leí, puedo decir, que las mujeres van a la guerra para defender a sus familias y sus derechos, de la misma forma que lo hacen los hombres, pero no lo hacen según la visión de las películas de Hollywood, sino más bien para enfrentar lo que ellas representan.

Normally, when talking about wars and battles, one thinks of American movies, which are commonly placed on television screens, and that many times, in reality, they always come loaded with a huge ideological component, which ends up making people think that they are the power that owns the world, and that no one has the right to rebel against their power and their criteria.

But, if one opens up a little, and leaves the influence of Hollywood, one can also see the vision of other realities and other visions of the world. And one of the most interesting, is the vision of the Russian militia. And one of the things that impressed me the most, is that in the Second World War, Russian women, actively participated in the war, as soldiers and pilots.

And far from the vision of the American hero, in those Russian, Yugoslav and other European and Eurasian films, an active role of women was seen, and their fears, their weaknesses, their strengths were seen in those images and they gave her a really human component. Not only of the condition they had, but of the reasons why they were struggling.

Then, when I was already a teenager, I could see that there was also another reality in the Latin American region, and here in our region, there were real wars, which almost did not come to public light, since they were the fights of indigenous peoples and small countries fighting against the hegemony of the United States, in their regions.

And there were also many women who went to war in the jungle, to defend their ideals and to be able to give a different future to their children, so they saw situations like those in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, among many other struggles that took place in our region and that were silenced by the social media, which often depended on the influence of the United States.

In my personal experience, I had the opportunity to meet in Bolivia, a woman who was in the water war, and in it, she was injured and also detained. Her children told me how she had changed their world when she returned home from the war.

They had to visit their mother, in the hospital and in prison, and their mother always told them that this situation was due to the struggle they had to make, so that private companies would not take away their water, and she told her children that the injury and the prison was a payment that she gladly paid, because the people won the war and the French and American multinationals could not take away their water.

The truth is that with the story of Candida, the Bolivian warrior, with the other women I met who were guerrillas at the time, and with the stories I saw and read, I can say that women go to war to defend their families and their rights, in the same way that men do, but they do not do it according to the vision of Hollywood movies, but rather to face what they represent.
