Pront: Mide esto.

En varias ocasiones he comentado en estos escritos, que cuando era un muchacho, un gran amigo de la casa, que era judío, y que había pasado por situaciones horribles durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, al igual que su familia, me recomendó y enseñó, la importancia de aprender uno o varios oficios, ademas de la carrera académica.

Y efectivamente, le hice caso, así que aprendí a trabajar madera, electricidad, y un par de actividades manuales más, que efectivamente me han ayudado mucho en los enormes momentos de crisis económica, por los que hemos pasado en el país.

Gracias a las sanciones políticas y económicas impuestas por el gobierno estadounidense y seguidas por la Unión Europea, que lejos de hacerle daño a los gobiernos, terminan dañando a los pueblos, que supuestamente quieren ayudar a liberar.

Lo cierto es que en más de una ocasión, realizando esos oficios, que en un momento se convirtieron en modos productivos de subsistencia, me ha tocado colocar topes de madera, empotrar tuberías, colocar muebles, y realizar medidas de espacios para la colocación de techos y de iluminación.

Y una de las partes más interesantes de ese trabajo, es realizar las medidas para la colocación de las tuberías externas, debido a que deben quedar perfectas, para que no afecten el proceso estético de la obra. Y eso, lo hacemos utilizando un láser y unos marcadores de hilo de tiza, que nos ayudan a realizar las marcas, por donde va a pasar la tubería de una manera perfecta.

Recuerdo, que un día en una obra, un arquitecto y un ingeniero, nos vieron realizando las medidas, y después vieron el trabajo terminado con la tubería. Y al terminar nosotros nuestro trabajo, ellos nos llamaron y nos invitaron a otra obra para realizar un presupuesto, y nos dio mucha risa, ya que ellos nos mostraron los planos de la tubería externa.

Y después de un rato de hablar, sobre el proceso de las tuberías, los procesos de acometida y otras necesidades de la obra.

El arquitecto nos preguntó, si podíamos hacerle un presupuesto: por “medir esto” mientras señalaba un plano con tuberías principales y de reservas.

Y sin haberlo pensado, además de nuestro trabajo habitual, nos contrataron, para realizar las medidas y colocar los trayectos de las tuberías para otros contratistas, siendo eso, nuestro primer y único contrato de un trabajo de medición y marca de trayectoria de tuberías.

On several occasions I have commented in these writings, that when I was a boy, a great friend of the house, who was Jewish, and who had gone through horrible situations during the Second World War, like his family, recommended and taught me, the importance of learning one or several trades, in addition to the academic career.

And indeed, I listened to him, so I learned to work wood, electricity, and a couple of other manual activities, which have really helped me a lot in the enormous moments of economic crisis, which we have gone through in the country.

Thanks to the political and economic sanctions imposed by the American government and followed by the European Union, which far from harming governments, end up harming the peoples, which they supposedly want to help liberate.

The truth is that on more than one occasion, performing those trades, which at one time became productive modes of subsistence, I have had to place wooden stoppers, embed pipes, place furniture, and make measurements of spaces for the placement of ceilings and lighting.

And one of the most interesting parts of that job is to make the measurements for the placement of the external pipes, because they must be perfect, so that they do not affect the aesthetic process of the work. And that, we do it using a laser and some chalk thread markers, which help us to make the marks, where the pipe will pass through in a perfect way.

I remember that one day at a construction site, an architect and an engineer saw us making the measurements, and then they saw the finished work with the pipe. And when we finished our work, they called us and invited us to another work to make a budget, and it made us laugh a lot, because they showed us the plans of the external pipe.

And after a while of talking, about the process of the pipes, the rush processes and other needs of the work.

The architect asked us, if we could give him a quote: for "measuring this” while pointing to a plan with main and reserve pipes.

And without having thought, in addition to our usual work, they hired us, to make the measurements and place the paths of the pipes for other contractors, that being our first and only contract for a measurement and marking of the path of pipes.
