I've used the past paragraph to talk about the concept in a quite generalised manner, but now I'll take it to the personal level.
Knowing one's jurisdiction is very necessary in today's world, and especially in our relationships with people. I know some people are well meaning, and others are just naturally bossy, people on several occasions go out of their jurisdictions.
For instance, there was a time in school when we were bombarded with assignments. While we scrambled to get our assignments ready before the due dates, we were also shuffling classes. It was almost overwhelming. Then one day, while we were about our academic activities, one man came to our class and started giving us orders to select people routinely, and we started following. We were just in our first year, so we just wanted to be right. It was when one of our lectures saw us cleaning that he asked us what we were doing and we explained to him. He became livid and asked us who asked us to clean and we told him. And then he told us that no lecturer or staff has the power to ask us to clean any office or any part of the school except during community service or if we volunteer out of sheer will. That's when we realised that we were being pushed over.
So yeah, he definitely went out of his jurisdiction when he asked us to do things that were not supposed to do.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗
