One of the places where summer is really celebrated (so to speak) is Miami. The people over there make it seem as if the sun was right at their doorstep. You see them walking around. Having mobile pools set up in their yards. Don't get me started on the beach side. The beaches are packed with people during summer season. One can even say there are more people on the beach than there is sand (just joking). But really, they really make summer seem very extreme over there. I didn't even mention how tanned they get.
Over here in Nigeria, the closest thing we have to summer is what we call the August break. It's a seven day (more or less) period that it doesn't rain at all. We don't even see dark clouds. The sun shines very brightly and hot. One thing you can count on is that you won't need to be worried about rain spoiling your event or stopping you from going somewhere. You can do laundry, hang them outside, and be relaxed because you know rain will not fall, neither will it threaten to.
Let's also talk about how beneficial summer is to the trending means of electrical power; solar energy. We know how the solar panels converts solar energy to electrical energy (I don't know all the details and scientific jargons). But one thing is sure during summer, the solar panel get their fill everyday as long as the season lasts. The batteries too are not left out. Then to people that power their homes with them, it's a great time of unlimited energy.
Yes, the summer season can be brutally hot, but humans have learned to harness its potential and adapt to its cons.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗
August break in Nigeria is really a good one, often linked to "August visitor" in my area. Where a relative or friend you haven't seen In a year shows up that period and it's so always much fun with lots of get-togethers.
I love your piece, it's really beautiful
