The first time we went to a particular community for census work. We went there with some security personnels. while we were still strolling through a narrow bush part, we saw a very big snake trying to cross the part, immediately we screamed , signalling the security personnel to shoot it.
But one of the community men that was accompanying us , said no, that the security personnel should not shoot it , if not there was going to be a problem. What problem ? we asked to know, he narrated a story to us and told us they don't kill snakes in their community.
I was shock, but that didn't stop us from doing our work. But it was a new lesson learnt, and a new experience.
