This post is an entry to the #ZapFicMonday "Candle"!

The #ZapFicMonday is a literary initiative from the Freewriters Community in which writers have to create a story, using the prompt provided, with 240 characters or less.

Hidden

The kingdom was in shambles after the invasion.
Not a single place was safe anymore.
I'm hidden in the basement, with only a dim candle. Coward? Me? I'm not a warrior or a wizard, what else could I do?
I heard noises.
They are coming.
