All, doing a 5 minute freewrite. Thank you for reading.
Chanced upon the article of The Lost Ward which tells of the reduction of psychiatric beds in the US which caused people with severe mental illness to end up in different places such as prisons, emergency rooms or even the streets to get treatment.
With the ever growing mental stress that people get subjected to, mental wellness awareness and treatment needs to be adequately available. And typically mental illness do not go full blown right from the start but progressively worsen. If we lack proper treatment facility, we would leave ourselves with a mountain of problems to deal with subsequently, especially from those whose illness that can lead to criminal tendencies. Sufficient beds need to be set aside for people to recover and recuperate.
And to even address things from the root, we need to be mindful of various sources of stress and find ways to manage them. The rat race is always there, but question is do we really need to give ourselves that much stress to join the race or we just run at our own pace? Something to ponder.
This is good call out
