Roy was trying his best to balance the numbers for the account which was handled to him by the last treasurer during the last executive committee changeover. No matter how he attempted, Roy just couldn't make it balanced and the discrepancy amount is huge.

Roy quickly alerted the new chairman of the club that he is facing this and suggesting to arrange for a meet up with the the last treasurer to understand the discrepancy. During the meetup, previous accounting files were checked. And finally it arrived at an unaccounted expenditure which the last committee spent a mini celebration suggested by the last chairman of the club. Now, this become a case of whether to write off or not, a decision for the new chairman.

The new chairman just mentioned, the money is already spent and there is no way to get it back, so we will be writing off but this will result in a tougher canvassing goal for the team and the previous executive committee will need to chip in and help meet the new goal since they've spent the money in advance for their own celebration.
