In today's work context, while many will say that boundaries between employees and their supervisors have seemingly been blurred because of the way of working and also the close working relationship required between supervisors and employees, employees should not be naive and assumed that the authority that their supervisors have over them is also blurred.

Many a times, they even try to climb over the head of their supervisors because they thought they are really close due to their working relationship. No matter how close, they still have authority over you and have a handhold over you for your career.

One should always observe that fine line because that will allow you to not get too close and end up landing yourself into unnecessary favour or being exploited because of that "closeness".

Key to succeed is to always be professional and remain professional.
