Survival is an important knowledge that one must possess in a workplace. Without it, you will either get bullied or find that everyone else promote faster than you and you end up getting stuck at your current position.
If you are able to tolerate then you might not need to get much of this knowledge. But if you are someone who wish to climb the corporate ladder and at the same time protect yourself, then this is very important to you.
I have seen many people knowing how to dodge work going their way or even know asking critical questions when they need to. And many a times, their actions will look popular but actually within the group, someone else will suffer. Do not be the most popular but do not go unnoticed, everything is like a balance.
