WORLD SIGHT DAY: LOVE YOUR EYES šŸ‘ļø

Dear fellow hivers, today is a reminder of something we take for granted every day which is our ability to SEE.

World Sight Day is celebrated every second Thursday of October. It's a global call to love your eyes and prioritize eye health.

Think about this.

You use your eyes to hustle, to read, to watch, to scroll Hive, to see your loved ones. But when was the last time you actually checked them?

Many of us will only remember our eyes when they start to pain us.
That small blurry vision.
That headache after pressing phone.
That itch we ignore.
These are signs that our eyes are not functioning well.

On this World Sight Day, just help yourself and do these 3 simple things:

  1. Get your eyes tested.
    Not expensive.
Many opticians do free checks today.
    Please just check your eyes.

  2. Reduce screen time.
That 2am scrolling is killing your eyes slowly.
    Give them rest.
Use the 20-20-20 rule, as in every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

  3. Protect them.
    Wear sunglasses in sun.
Don't rub dirty hands on your eyes.
Eat foods rich in Vitamin A like carrots, fish, green vegetables.

One billion people in the world live with vision loss that could have been prevented. Dear hivers, don't be one of them.

Your eyes saw you through childhood, school, heartbreak, success.
It's time to return the favor.

Love your eyes.
Your future will thank you for it.

Happy World Sight Day, dear kings and queens.
