Joanne does not like travelling by water. Unfortunately for she was posted to the headquarters of their company which is sited in a coastal area as the company secretary. Thus, she needs to be reporting to work using either a canoe or a speedboat.
One day, the weather was not friendly as the waters were troubled. Most boat riders could not venture in because under such weather the boat usually capsize. But the speedboat riders usually defy this turbulent weather to operate. Most times it is usually without hitches.
Joanne needs to report and prepare the report for the forthcoming AGM. She had to risk it all and use the speedboat. As a safety measure, she put on her lifejacket and the rider sped off. Few minutes later the sea became unbearable and all had to be thrown overboard. Joanne found herself in the waters.
An SOS was sent out immediately and in a matter of minutes divers were swimming up and down the water to rescue the submerged passengers. Joanne sprayed fervently for divine intervention. She does not want to die. At least not now. Joanne slighted one of the divers and with a 'save me' look in her eyes she beckoned on him to come to her aid.
Fortunately for her, the lifejacket she was wearing was equal to the task. Joanne was dragged out of the water and ferried to a safe location. There, medics were at hand to attend to her and other rescued passengers. She almost saw death beckoning at her.
When she got herself she was afraid to continue the journey. She had to return home and cancel everything partaining to work. She needs to be alive to work, earn money and present a comprehensive report for the AGM.
She was smart enough to have a life jacket on, most people are too embarrassed to wear one. If you can not swim or in bad weather wear a life jacket. Kudos to Joanne, all she needed to do was keep a calm head and float.
You are right. I wonder how some people will be embarrassed to wear a life saving device on them, seat belts inclusive. Many had gone for not adhering to these simple life saving tips.
