Joe usually wake up by 4:00AM to prepare for his work. He normally arrive at his place of work thirty minutes before others. That's well ahead of others and he is known for this punctuality. Others usually make jokes about punctuality making reference to him.

But today, Joe could not wake up by his usual time. He felt some weakness around his knee areas. After several attempts he went back to bed to see if he can regain some strength but that was not to be. He struggled and pulled himself together, took some pain reliever and head straight to work. By the time he got there he was already late.

Most of his friends knew that all was not well immediately they saw him. That's quite unlike him. He told them that he had a mild illness which made him wake up late and affected his daily morning routine.

At the close of work Joe went to a nearby hospital for proper medical examination. It was discovered from the medical tests that he has malaria 🦟 parasite. That means he will be given some bed rest for at least a day.

Joe contacted the head of admin of his office and explained his predicament. What he thought was a mild illness has ensured that he will be off his duties for two days. Everyone wished him quick recovery.
