Five Minute Freewrite: Bound To Fail

Having fought for over a decade for the control of the seafronts adjourning the Atlantic, the tiny island country of Marsh agreed to a round table discussion with the world's Peace watchdog - the UN. The other waring party - the People's Republic of Kansas were also persuaded to join the parley. They seem to be the most bouyant among the two.

The mediation lasted for over three months and at the end of the day the weaker country - Marsh Island were literally coerced into signing the agreement. They were meant to cede a greater part of the seafront to the other party - the People's Republic of Kansas.

Few weeks after the peace brokered by the international community two major incidents occured almost simultaneously involving fishermen from both sides of the divide over fishing rights.

Observers knew that the peace brokered by the international community was bound to fail having failed to take into cognizance the fears expressed by the People's Republic of Kansas during the negotiations.
