Vienna, Austria, will get a Satoshi Nakamoto statue, project 99% funded, donations in Bitcoin still possible.

Gute Nachrichten aus Wien, die von Bitcoin Austria initiierte Spendenkampagne, um eine Satoshi-Nakamoto Statue in Wien zu errichten, ist zu 98.79% finanziert und die Statue wird gebaut.

Satoshi kommt nach Hause. In die Hauptstadt der Österreichischen Schule der Nationalökonomie.

Der genaue Standort ist noch nicht entschieden, die Statue soll aber im Startup-Viertel (Viertel Zwei) in der Nähe des WU Campus aufgestellt werden.

Gespendet wurden bis jetzt insgesamt 1.29412909 Bitcoin für das Projekt, zwei anonyme OGs haben die Spenden von Februar bis Anfang März 2026 verdreifacht. Stadler Partner Rechtsanwälte unterstützen die Realisierung rechtlich.

Habe auch zwei mal gespendet und die Digital Legacy Option genutzt, damit wird man auf der Projektseite (pseudonym) genannt. Spenden in Bitcoin sind auf der offiziellen Website immer noch möglich, auch mit Lightning.

Die Statue selbst wird übrigens von SatoshiGallery aus Edelstahl gefertigt und im selben bekannten Design der Satoshi-Statue aus Lugano (Schweiz) des Künstlerin Valentina Picozzi gestaltet sein.

Coole Aktion und freue mich, dass Wien auch eine Satoshi-Statue bekommen wird.

Good news from Vienna, Austria: the fundraising campaign launched by Bitcoin Austria to erect a Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Vienna is 98.79% funded, and the statue is being built.

Satoshi is coming home to the capital of the Austrian School of Economics.

The exact location has not yet been decided, but the statue is to be erected in the startup district (District Two) near the campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien).

A total of 1.29412909 Bitcoin has been donated to the project so far, two anonymous OGs tripled the donations from February to early March 2026. Stadler Partner Rechtsanwälte is providing legal support for the project.

I’ve also donated twice and used the Digital Legacy option, which allows you to be listed (pseudonymously) on the project page. Donations in Bitcoin are still possible on the official website, also via Lightning.

By the way, the statue itself will be crafted from stainless steel by SatoshiGallery and designed in the same well-known style as the Satoshi statue in Lugano (Switzerland) by artist Valentina Picozzi.

Cool initiative, and I’m glad Vienna will also get a Satoshi statue.
