Its been some time since i posted here but i just watched or should i say binge watched this anime and i just wanna talk about it and i believe it is one anime that has been getting a lot of attention for a while now, at least on my feed on X, and honestly if you have not seen it yet, you might be missing out on something really wild. I am talking about Record of Ragnarok, and if you like action, mythology, and over the top battles, this show will definitely catch your interest.

So the whole concept of this anime is honestly crazy but in a very fun way. The story basically starts with the gods gathering together to decide the fate of humanity. After watching humans for thousands of years, they come to the conclusion that humanity has become corrupt and beyond saving. So they decide that it is time to wipe humans out completely and restart everything.
But just when the decision is about to be finalized, a valkyrie named Brunhilde steps in and challenges the gods. Instead of destroying humanity immediately, she proposes something called Ragnarok. The idea is simple but insane at the same timeand that is, thirteen gods will fight thirteen human champions in one on one battles. If the humans can win seven of those fights, humanity gets to survive. If they lose, well… humanity is finished.
Now this is where things get really exciting, because the humans chosen to fight are not just random people. They are some of the most legendary figures in human history. You get to see characters like Lu Bu, the legendary Chinese warrior, step into the arena to fight against the thunder god Thor. And right from that first fight, you already understand what kind of anime this is going to be.
Every battle feels like a clash between legends.
One thing I personally like about Record of Ragnarok is how the anime mixes history and mythology together. You will see famous humans like Adam fighting against powerful gods like Zeus. The matchups themselves are interesting enough to make you curious about what will happen next.
Another cool thing is how the show gives background stories for many of the fighters. Before or during the fights, you often get flashbacks showing what made these characters legendary in the first place. It helps you understand their motivations, their strengths, and why they are willing to fight for humanity.

Of course, the main focus of the anime is the fights, and they are intense. The battles are not just quick punches and kicks. These are dramatic, sometimes brutal confrontations where each fighter is pushing themselves to the absolute limit. Weapons break, strategies change and sometimes characters pull out abilities you did not expect at all. My favorite was the fight between Jack the Ripper and Hercules.... Dope!!!!!!!!
The reactions from the audience inside the arena also make things more entertaining. You see gods mocking humans, humans cheering for their champions, and sometimes even the gods getting shocked when a human manages to stand their ground against divine power.
The characters themselves are also a big part of the fun. Brunhilde is determined and fearless, always believing humanity deserves a chance to survive. Some of the gods are arrogant and see humans as insects, while others actually begin to respect the strength and will of humanity as the battles continue.
Just honestly speaking, this anime is a great watch if you enjoy action-heavy shows with a unique concept. It might not be for everyone, especially if you are looking for a deep emotional story like some other anime, but if you want epic fights between gods and legendary humans, it definitely delivers.
And the best part is that once you start watching Record of Ragnarok, you will probably find yourself wanting to see the next fight immediately, because every battle feels like a huge event. For anime fans who enjoy mythology, history, and pure action, it is definitely one worth checking out.
