Shiboyugi: Playing Death Game To Put Food On The Table. _ My Honest Review.

Hello Fellow Anime Fans,

I am not sure how many here, have seen this series , but i stumbled upon it in my search last night for animes to watch and review, and one thing about this anime is that it ate... So this anime is different from the usual kind of power up, friendship and hero saving the world kind of Anime. This Anime is alot darker than any anime i have recently seen. it is more tense, and if i might add honestly it is uncomfortable sometimes, but yeah in a good way.

This Anime is called Shiboyugi: Playing Death Game To Put Food On The Table. Already from the story you can tell the kind of Anime that you are about entering, currently i'm 5 episodes in i am already hooked.

The storyline of this anime is about a young girl who is participating in dangerous death games, and she is not in it because of the excitement or the fun, but because she has to survive, she needs money to survive, food, living expenses, basicneeds you just name it and yes everything depends on winning these games. And this alone already changes the whole tone compared to other kinds of survival animes. She is someone trying to stay alive financaily and physically at same time.

So what i personally like about this anime is the realism behind the motivation, you see alot of death game animes focuses on entertainment values, some flashy powers, alot of dramatic speeches, crazy villains. But for this one, the emotions weight comes from survival, mow imagine you risking your life just because you have to eat tomorrow? you see that thought alone makes every decision the characters take feel heavy.

The main character here in this anime is also very intriguing, she isnt overly dramatic or something, shes actually practical , sometimes shes cold, sometimes shes scared, but you can understand why she is. When your survival depends on winning, emotions can truky become very dangeroous, so watching her navigate alliances, trust issues and very dangerous challenges just keeps you so engaged, because you know that just one wrong move can end everything.

There is this psychological tension that builds slowly , here you are not just watching action scences , but also you are watching these people think, calculate and sometimes break mentally under so much pressure, that mental aspect alone is honestly one of the strongest parts of this anime.

Animation wise .... I will say that this one is actually decent, not the most flashy production there is but but it does what it needs to do, so the atmosphere is moroe important than visuual spectacle here. and this anime captures that tension well. Also the mi=usic helps create suspense during the critical moments.

One more thing that i noticeed is that this anime questions morality, it questions how far someone would go just so they can survive. what choices becomes acceptable when your life is on the line? indeed these themes add depth beyond just "to win or to die"

Seriously this isn't a light Anime that you watch so you can feel relaxed , nope... it can feel stressful because the stakes are always high, but then if you enjoy psychological thrillers, survival stories, and intensed situations, then i will say this one is worth checking out.

In all, SHIIBOYUGI stangs out because of its grounded motivation and also the emotional tension. it is not just about the death games, it is about desperation, survival and the cost of staying alive in a harsh system.

That's an interesting point you make about this anime. It's barely aired, so saying "I've already seen it" isn't quite right, at least not at this point. But yes, I am watching it and I am really enjoying it, especially because it manages to grab attention now with so many epic anime airing simultaneously this season. Personally, I think it's not for everyone.

Anime itself has many slow moments, so many that they could be stressful and/or boring for a large part of the audience. The setting and direction of the anime is another thing that fascinates me, as well as its mix of suspense with well-developed female characters.

The plot twists at the end of each game are the best part.

Good review.
