Saturday Hive Chess S1R4 Review: Beast-Mode Players

Again, the chess brothers came together to participate in a fun tournament hosted by @samostically. You know, I used to tell people that whenever I'm stressed, I play chess. But I don't think that's a very good idea anymore, particularly not in this hot season. Today's tournament was hot. Yes, I had fun, but I got paired with really strong players who destroyed me. Although I managed to win a few games, I played better last week. I'll be reviewing some games that caught my attention and that I found very interesting.

ODNOOBRAZ_BCM VS FCASTRO17

I was surprised when I saw that our best player wasn’t topping the leaderboard. I was even more surprised when I clicked on his name and saw that he lost a game. A big kudos to FCastro17. I watched the game and I must say he played really well. Odnoob joined the game a bit late, so I guess he probably wanted to get more points and so he berserked FCastro. Both players had good openings, although I was surprised when Odnoob exchanged his Rook for a Knight. His opponent had the upper hand from there. However, later on, FCastro also blundered his Rook. Maybe if Odnoob had more time he would have managed to win.

@STAYOUTOFTHERZ VS @STUFFINGS

Another game I was surprised to see was IM stuffings VS Stay. The game didn’t last for long because Stay made a terrible blunder and resigned afterwards. These things happen in chess and when they do, we say it was a terrible day. Even though Stay wasn’t in form, he still managed to beat me.

It was nice to play with Masterswatch after a very long time. I needed more points, so I decided to berserk. He also berserked the game. Masterswatch would have won the game if he had not run out of time. He had more pieces and was close to being promoting one of his pawns.
