Blitz Chess - Playing Black Against the London System

Greetings to all chess fans! The London System is my favorite opening with White. Playing blitz on lichess, it's not uncommon for me to see the same opening used against me when I play Black. Being familiar with the opening, it's easy to find moves that will equalize the position. I'll show my recent game on lichess and how I played against the opening.

The game started 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bf4 d5 3. e3 Bf5 4. Nf3 c5 5. Bd3 Ne4 6. Nbd2 e6

Earlier, I lost a game when instead e6 I moved 6. ...c4 7. Bxe4 Bxe4 8. Nxe4 dxe4 9. Nd2 leaving me with weak pawns on e4 and c4.

The game continued 7. Ne5 Nd7

White can punish Black's inaccuracy with Bb5 pressuring the d7 Knight but he has to calculate several moves ahead. It's only after computer analysis that I saw my mistake. 8. Ndf3 Ndf6 9. g4 Nxg4

Taking the free g4 pawn looks dangerous as it gave White a target in the open g-file but I decided to YOLO it and maybe I can hold on to the extra pawn. 10. Bxe4 dxe4 11. Nd2

Nd2 was losing and gave me another pawn. Better was 11. Qe2 exf3 (I would probably get greedy and take the Knight) 12. Qb5+ leads to mate in 3.

The game continued with 11. ...Nxe5 12. Bxe5 f6 13. Bg3 cxd4 14. Qe2 d3 15. cxd3 exd3

Black is winning. Two pawns up with a passed pawn on the d file. White has no compensation for the lost pawns. 16. Qh5+ Bg6 17. Qf3 Qb6 18. b3 Bb4 19. Rc1 O-O 20. Rg1 Qa5 21. Qd1 Rac8 { Black wins on time. } 0-1

Playing chess is fun but let's not forget about physical activities. I recently committed to exercise and to keep me motivated, I joined actifit.io
