A Short Game on Lichess

Greetings to all chess fans. I haven't played chess for a while and have missed the Saturday chess tournaments run by @sam.chess. I've been busy lately and sleep early on weekends. Consequently, I wasn't able to join the tournaments because it starts late at night in our country. I'm practicing blitz again to prepare myself in the next tournaments. I have this short but fun game on lichess.com.

The game started with 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bf4 g6 3. e3 Bg7

The London System known for being solid but simple. I return to familiar territory to save time. I played with this opening so many times, I don't have to think and just make moves automatically. 4. Nf3 d6 5. c4 O-O 6. Nc3 Nbd7

I played the London System against the King's Indian Defense so many times with good results. I intend to meet black's Kingside attack with an attack on the opposite side in conjunction with my dark squared Bishop controlling the h2 to b8 diagonal. 7. h3 c5 8. Be2 cxd4 9. exd4 a6

The game transposed to a Sicilian Dragon with White castling King side. 10. O-O b5 11. b3 Qa5 12. Bd2 Qc7 13. cxb5 Ne8

My opponent blundered a pawn. He's claiming compensation with pressure on my isolated d4 pawn. 14. bxa6 Bxa6 15. Bxa6 Rxa6

It's nice to find this simple tactic. The double attack wins another pawn on e7. 16. Qe2 Rc6

Huge blunder. Now he loses his the exchange. The Knight will capture the pawn on e7 while forking the King and Rook. 17. Nd5 Qd8 18. Nxe7+ 1-0

That was a short and fun game.

Playing chess is great for the mind but let's not forget about physical activities. I recently committed to exercise and to keep me motivated, I joined actifit.io
