The Netherlands is famous for it's flower fields especially the ones with tulips.
But although tulips are intrinsically linked to the Netherlands, the are originally from central Asia and came to the Netherlands back in the 16th century.

I live near the west coast of The Netherlands. The area that is know for its flower fields.
Many farmers produce flowers like daffodils, hyacinths and off course... tulips.

These tulips come in many different colours and there are even different species as you can see in the following photo.

There are also multi-coloroud ones like these red-orange ones.

Usually there are a lot of tourists, but I went there on a Friday in the morning, so it was nice and quiet.
Alongside the fields there are several stands where you can buy tulips fresh from the field.

The farmers sometimes even have built their houses in the middle of their fields. It must be wonderful to wake up with such a view.

I really like the very bright coloured tulips like these orange and pink ones in the background.

And finally one of my favourite shots. This is also my submission for the weekly World Contest Photography by @marc-allaria. I think it's a perfect one for the subject "Flowers of the world".
I took this one while laying in the ground and made the morning sun peak around one of the tulips.
