Hello Hello Hivians
It's Wednesday and here in Scotland we are having sun clouds and rain. The weather forecasts are pish!
Supposed to be clouds and rain today with a high of 18. But here was I in the sunshine at 24 degrees!
I often feed the birds here and eat my lunch or read a book, all sorts.
We also have some flowers that are a haven for the pollinators in summer.
There is heaps of lavender but it is not quite ready for the bees....
There is a period of the year when lavender plants are buzzing with all kinds of bees.
For this park lavender it is not quite ripe enough for the bees. Unlike the lavender bushes I pass on the walk to and from the park which are fluffing teaming with bees, these lavender plants are currently only hosts to a few bees....
But I saw this gorgeous wee butterfly.
I think I know the Red Admiral and the white cabbage butterfly and that is the extent of my UK butterfly knowledge.
I presume it is a butterfly and not a moth, only because I think moths are brown lol!
I kept only shooting the top or shooting only the bottom part...
But I remembered what @tattoodjay said is the spirit of #wednesdaywalk ...
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
So this was me stopping and looking at a thing to get shots of..
That thing ... ππ¦
It's pretty fluffing cool ...
I had no idea what it was ...
So out came google lens...
Yes I really could see those green veins!
Thank you my trusty AI companion gemini for enlightening us with ...
The Green-veined White butterfly (Pieris napi) is a common species in the UK, known for the distinctive greenish-grey veins on the underside of its white wings. It prefers damp habitats, like woodlands and hedgerows, and its caterpillars feed on wild cruciferous plants. It can be distinguished from similar "white" butterflies by these unique vein markings.
It really was stunning!
I won't lie, but I find it incredibly hard to photography flighty insects...
You know type that ...
"Float like a butterfly sting like a bee"
as the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali said...
I know that I am not in the league of these insect micro maestros like @stresskiller and @ekavieka but using my phone I am chuffed with these!
I will leave you with this one as we leave...
I never edited any of these pictures so yeah I am pretty chuffed with these!
This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay

You read books?! Oh wow! I thought you used scrolls. And those are amazing shots! As always! Look at the bum on that wee one.
haha I managed to trade my parchment scrolls into three books! How fluffing cool is that...
Very cool. Iβm still trying to trade one book for Akara π€£

I love lavender both fir its color and how it attracts butterflies and bees
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
Lavender really is gorgeous and so beneficial for us :)
Wonderful images!!! I love butterflies, and I'd never seen this type before. I also admire experts who take insect photographs, and the images look like something out of an alien story. Hugs from the blue butterfly.
Yes I was amazed that I could capture the butterfly and one that I had no idea what it was.
It was fun and thank you so much blue butterfly, this hug is for the luck you brought yesterday.
Thanks Mel :)
The flowers you know have blended in with this butterfly and look very beautiful.π
That is true, thank you :)

You had a good shots of that butterfly , I love the purple flowers that makes the place more beautiful.
Thank you, they came out really well I think :)
You didn't bring your lunch there? Wondering if you eat your food there, wouldn't the birds disturb you?π
Hehe sometimes they try lol!
What a pretty place to walk, with all the nice flowers. Lavender is pretty, and you even found an insect guest star! Very well done. It always feels good to get out for a walk every now and again doesn't it?
Yeah I love a walk and in summer try to get out somewhere most days!
