A Stroll around Lekki City

This is my entry to #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay. I love the take walk during the warm afternoon. When I mean warm afternoon, I mean when the sun is not too hot, I mean during that time that I do not need a sunshade, when the temperature is mild. It is not a new thing that we are in the dry season. A period when there will not be rainfall for at least four (4) months straight. This period the sun can be scorching and if one is not very careful, one can have a sun burn. So the best time for me to take my walks is between 9:00A.M and 11:15 A.M, or by evening between 4:00PM and 6:45PM. This is the only period you can get a favorable and less aggressive high temperature.

My walk is within the city of Ikate, a very popular city within the Lekki axis of Lagos State.Lagos State is the most populous state in the southern part of the country, and this part of the state is not an exception. The traffic congestion is still a little mild in comparison to that of the mainland. Ikate traffic light is a part of the city that is very busy with commuters. They are mainly people that are going to work on the other part of the Island (Victoria Island). The busy road include people going to work places, people going to business shops, people going to render services amongst others.

It is in a very rare case will you not encounter traffic in this part of the city. To be honest there is a 98% chance of traffic here on daily basis. probably it is the traffic light that cause it, I cannot say precisely or the high number of commuters both those driving, those trekking, those riding bicycle or motorcycle.

After my walk I strolled to the local food seller to get myself some roasted yam and potato to replenish the energy I have used up. It was a wonderful experience having to post in this week's #wednesdaywalk
